WILD WEST COUNTRY

"WILD WEST COUNTRY", a documentary series about the Old West history of California's Southern Sierra Nevada region, began production in June, '06.  The series is based on nine books written by the late Cowboy-Historian-Author, Bob Powers.

The project is being produced with grant funding provided by private individuals through the Kern Community Foundation.  Funds are being administered by the Kern River Valley Educational and Cultural Foundation.

Part of the concept for the project is that it will be utilized as a teaching tool for digital cinema production classes being offered by Cerro Coso Community College, at the new Digital Media Center of Excellence at the Lake Isabella campus.  The Kern River Valley Educational and Cultural Foundation is providing the classroom space for the new Media Arts curriculum.
